New Boxer Combat Reconnaissance Vehicle in Exercise Diamond Walk

The new Boxer combat reconnaissance vehicle, which is being introduced to replace the current Australian Light Armoured Vehicle (ASLAV) has been put to the test in the largest exercise the vehicle has operated in since its introduction to the Australian Army.

Exercise Diamond Walk 2021 saw the 6th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment, train alongside of M1A1 Abrams Main Battle Tanks from the 2nd/14th Light Horse Regiment and Combat Engineers from the 2nd Combat Engineer Regiment, supported by artillery from the 1st Regiment, Royal Australian Artillery.

The 7th Combat Brigade exercise conducted at Shoalwater Bay Training Area, Central Queensland from 17 May to 11 June has been designed to practice the brigade’s mounted combined arms manoeuvre capability.
