The Australian Army’s 3rd Brigade Training

The Australian Army’s 3rd Brigade deployed to the Townsville Field Training Area to commence their first major training exercise for 2023, Exercise Silicon Brolga.

Over 1500 troops fought for two weeks in an austere and demanding field environment against a simulated enemy. Exercise Silicon Brolga was the first of several training activities for 2023, as the 3rd Brigade prepared for Exercise Talisman Sabre with the US military and other partner forces later in the year.

Exercise Silicon Brolga was conducted in the Townsville Field Training Area from the 6th – 17th of March.
