Continuing Difficulties in the Certification of the 737 Max 10 and 7
Boeing is attempting to avoid an upgrade to the crew alerting system of the two members of the 737 MAX family__the MAX-7 and MAX-10 that have not yet been certified.
The MAX 10 is the largest variant of the 737 family, while the MAX 7 is somewhat smaller. Boeing needs to get regulatory approval for the MAX 10 and MAX 7 by December of this year.
The release of both planes into service may be severely delayed unless Boeing is granted an exemption from the new modern cockpit-alerting requirements by Congress.
