Team Osprey Delivers for the Warfighter
The V-22 Osprey program serves as a prime example of industry members partnering to serve the evolving and emergent needs of the military.
Introduced over 30 years ago, the incredible capabilities of the tiltrotor aircraft have fundamentally changed how the U.S. Marine Corps, Air Force and Navy operate in combat and humanitarian operations.
As lead manufacturers of the Osprey, Bell and Boeing collaborate with a team of dedicated and skilled experts, known as Team Osprey. Together, they continuously drive innovation to build and sustain the powerful platform.
The 500 suppliers that make up the Team Osprey consortium span across nearly every state. These suppliers provide thousands of individual parts that are critical to the tiltrotor’s production and sustainment requirements. The sole purpose of this strong, collective force is to support every sortie of the Osprey.
In addition to managing and contributing to the aircraft’s supply chain, Team Osprey has strong partnerships with aircraft operators and maintainers, both uniformed and civilian, from various commands across the Department of War.
Team Osprey’s participation in industry events and hosting of annual working group meetings foster and deepen relationships with government and military leaders, providing opportunities to exchange ideas, receive feedback, and identify best practices. This interaction is critical for the platform’s current and future operational success.
This past October, nearly 50 suppliers who support Team Osprey met in San Diego for a three-day conference. This event provided Bell, Boeing, and representatives across industry, as well as our U. S. Government partners, with the opportunity to collaborate in a meaningful way across a variety of issues that affect today’s Osprey fleet.
Each year, operators from across the Osprey community share their personal accounts of their day-to-day interactions with industry, as well as their insights on how the Osprey is used operationally.
These sessions are both informative and, indeed, inspiring. Stories shared illustrate the unique versatility of the V-22, the critical solution it provides to the warfighter, and the need to sustain this valuable aircraft for current and future missions for decades to come.
Hearing these accounts directly from a customer confirms that the Osprey is the only aircraft capable of a number of missions across the globe. The stories make a lasting impression on Team Osprey members, reaffirming their dedication to the program and the mission.
Besides several educational large and small group sessions, Team Osprey also made philanthropy a component of the 2025 gathering, where they directly supported “Shelter to Soldier” – a charity whose mission is to provide service dogs to veterans in need.
As the military prepares to bolster defensive efforts across the globe and the Pentagon moves forward on its National Defense Industrial Strategy, Team Osprey and its collaborative workforce is well-positioned to deliver results for the warfighter for decades to come.
